Football (soccer) World Cup Results

I'm not normally one to watch football, I prefer rugby league, but as a proud Kiwi I just have to stick it up the Slovaks & Italians out there:

NZ - 1, Slovakia - 1

NZ -1, Italy - 1

NZ is currently ranked 78 in the world, Slovakia is ranked about a mile ahead of NZ, Italy is ranked 5, that's right... 5, and are current world champions, and despite both these teams consisting of highly paid fulltime professional players, neither side could beat the mighty All-Whites from lil ol' NZ, several of whom play in the local league, and a couple of whom are amateurs!!! :mrgreen:

I just knew you would say that. But I gotta give it to you Dak, they did well. Congratz :lol:

I expect the games to get better and better as some teams are kicked out.

Now all we gotta worry about is beating Paraguay to make the next round... easy

But seriously, they're heroes back here just for making it to the tournament, so everything else is a bonus

NZ UNDEFEATED AT WORLD CUP!!! :mrgreen:

...and we finished above the reigning world champions in our group!!!

But alas, it's not enough to advance to the next round :wall:

Yup, I think Italy (WORLD CHAMP) is out. They lost Slovakia and had two chances to catch up and tie... they lost 3-2.

Slovakia - 4 points, won 1, drew 1, lost 1
NZ - 3 points, drew 3
Italy - 2 points, drew 2, lost 1 :shock:

Sounds good... as I am unfamiliar with the cup, what does "drew" mean?

USA lost yesterday too... :wall:

The ref did make a very big mistake, but it was only for one goal... the other 2 goals that the Germans made... Well, it was 4 to 1, I'm not sure if they could have won even if the Refs did allow that goal...

I think the Latin American countries will win this year, and if one of them do, I'm OK. Euro countries are going out.

(would've been just fantastic if the USA could have beaten Ghana. GG all the same, but we need to get better)

& If they'd ov gid it them, they would have ad defence more near their net... but no.. stupid ref :@
