hello,
at present i cannot connect to the update server properly from windows / linux / or osx
here is the error

i cannot play multiplayer at all because it says i need an update (i assume since it cant verify that one exists)

any insight would be appreciative... this is why i think twice about buying games that rely on servers controlled by third parties (parties other than me!). What happens when oddlabs decide that they dont wanna support the multiplayer servers anymore ? that means the multiplayer portion of a game i paid for no longer will work.

We are experiencing problems with our update system at the moment. We are trying to sort it out. In the meantime, you can download a new installer, which includes the updates, at http://tribaltrouble.com/download.php

It might be wise to backup the files 'savegames', 'registration' and 'settings' in the Tribal Trouble directory.

PS: I can't imagine that we would ever drop support for our multiplayer server without opening up the source for the server. But of course, I should never say never

i got a similar problem

when i try to update it says so an so directory not found
