I'm using ubuntu linux (gnome desktop, using esd) and I can't have sound working.

I've tried to kill esd, but without success.
My motherboard is a MSI K7N2Delta with sound chipset (ac_97 driver). On my laptop, it works fine, with sound.
Any suggestion ? (yes, I can play on my laptop, but I don't like it !)

I tried it, but it doesn't work
I tried to modify the .openalrc file with 'sdl' instead of 'alsa', but it doesn't work too ..

I don't know what the problem is then. Perhaps it is our build of openal that for some reason doesn't work on you machine. You can try to delete our openal and symlink it to whatever openal .so file your system has.

gamedata/data-1/native/.svn/text-base/libopenal.so.svn-base

Note that this will break the update function.

the music on tt is very southing for the first hour u play but then it gets extreamly aritating

yeah, you have a point there

but it is helpful to hear the sound when your playing, because it tells you when a unit dies, which would alert you to an attack
