Maybe try to run it with
./tribaltrouble > logfile

You'll have all tribaltrouble executable output in this logfile.

Then post it here.

I am not a dev however, just mere betatester / user for quite some time, so devs may have better ideas.

If you're able to start the game a second time, it will ask you to submit a bug report to us. It will include detailed information about the crash, so we can diagnose and fix it.

I had the same problem with the game freezing in Mandrake until I disabled the hardware mouse cursor in the game options. All runs smoothly now!

P4 3.0 ghz
1 gb ram

I've got the same problem here: the game often freezes since the last update.
I've tried to disable every option 1 by 1 (graphics quality, mouse, ...), and the only thing which works is to disable music (not SFX). I don't know why, but since I disabled music, I've never had a freeze.
Config: Gentoo GNU/Linux, amd64 with emul-linux-x86-soundlibs
But someone (MrPinguin) had the same problem (also since the last update), and same solution, with a Pentium4, so it does not seem to be because of the x86 emulation.

I've just updated the openal library that should fix it. Sorry about the freezing, it was caused by an erratic fix to another common linux OAL problem (the OpenALException crash if you've experienced it yourself). Now both problems should be fixed.

Good to hear. I'll upload a new linux installer so new visitors won't get the buggy version.
